What is Badware?

A badware website is a website that helps distribute badware, either intentionally or because it has been compromised. Many normal, legitimate websites are infected and turned into badware websites without the knowledge of their owners.

ReleaseWire does now allow the distribution of press releases and related content that links to a Badware Website.


If ReleaseWire determines or is notified by one of our trusted 3rd party sources, that a press release listed on ReleaseWire contains Badware, or links to a Badware Website, we will immediately remove the press release in question.


If a press release is removed for violation of our Anti-Badware Policy, the submitter of the content will be warned, repeated violations of this policy may result in the termination of the submitters ReleaseWire account.
